Elizabeth Ann McKenzie is best known for the Big Eye illustrations that she has been creating since the age of fifteen.

After graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Art Education, she began a 40 year long career instructing visual art to a multitude of students in the public schools of Indiana.

Upon retirement she has returned to her life long dream of becoming the artist. In the last few years she has created several watercolor illustrations which you can view on this website. One of her biggest efforts was to begin a series of Mini Big Eye watercolor paintings. Her goal is to create 1,000 of these. At this time she has successfully drawn and painted about 250. Another big project for Liz has been the collaboration of illustrating the book Freyja and the Brisingamen Necklace. The book ,authored by J C Enno, was published in the Fall of 2018 and is now available through Amazon.

“Liz” comes from a long line of artists. Her son Mac Blackout and her daughter in law Alison McKenzie are both active accomplished artists in Chicago. When these three get together you can only imagine the flurry of artistic energy that ensues.
